Obsessed

It’s official. I have an obsessive personality. And I realize that a lot of people have this same exact problem. So I think we should get together and form a group of obsessor’s who obsess over things worth obsessing over.

Things I’m  currently obsessed with!

pintrest, home decorating ideas, shoes, sun dresses, funky jewelry, kitchen gadgets, cooking & eating healthy, calorie counting, etsy.com, craft projects, gel nail polish, ebay, fancy ice tea, draw something, lip gloss, old colored glass bottles, planting flowers, teal &  purple, eyeshadow, hair products, short chunky hair styles

Facebook Timeline

Follow the instructions below:

1. Log into Facebook

2. Enable developer mode, if you haven’t already. To do this, type “developer” into the Facebook search box, click the first result (it should be an app made by Facebook with a few hundred thousand users), and add the app.

3. Jump into the developer app (if Facebook doesn’t put you there automatically, it should be in your left-hand tool bar)

4. Create a new app (don’t worry — you wont actually be submitting this for anyone else to see/use). Give your shiny new app any display name and namespace you see fit. Read through and agree to the Platform Privacy agreement. This is the step you need to be verified for.

5. Ensure you’re in your new app’s main settings screen. You should see your app’s name near the top of the page

6. Look for the “Open Graph” header, and click the “Get Started using open graph” link.

Create a test action for your app, like “read” a “book”, or “eat” a “sandwich”

7. This should drop you into an action type configuration page. Change a few of the default settings (I changed the past tense of “read” to “redd” — again, only you can see this unless you try and submit your application to the public directory), and click through all three pages of settings

8. Wait 2-3 minutes

9. Go back to your Facebook homescreen. An invite to try Timeline should be waiting at the top of the page

Facebook changes who will win?

The most popular social-media site in the world, which seems to be making a new habit of making changes with little or no warning, set off tons of dislikes today, angering many with a redesign that alters the look and feel of its popular profile pages . Do you love or hate the new facebook layout? I am still unsure about it.. Really, wtf Facebook?? Supposedly you have to subscribe to what you want to see on your news feed and decide what exactly you can see in your feed. Like I only want to see photos of friends. What did you do to my perfectly fine news feed? The majority of my friends posted a lot of hate about it today. If it’s not broke why fix it? It is kinda like I heard that you Like Facebook so we put a Facebook in the corner of your Facebook so you can Facebook while you Facebook.

The best joke I heard today was:
I bet the only person happy with Facebook today is the CEO of Netflix.

The company’s blog says, “News Feed will act more like your own personal newspaper. You won’t have to worry about missing important stuff.”

It seems most of this change has been driven from the new social media site Google + Wow, a new social war! Google+ will surely have to combat Facebook in this social networking battle for domination as both websites target a similar audience . I am interested to see how this all plays out. Who do you think will win?

My Lust Lists ~ Chunky-Platforms Shoes.

I want a pair of these. They are just so darn cute and sexy and they seem to be everywhere for the upcoming fall season.

This pair from Nine West would be adorable for work.

This pair from Mod Clothing is just down right cute.

This pair from Go Jane would be super cute with a long skirt or jeans.

Another cute pair from Mod Clothing that would be great with a cute dress.

These are really festive and fun and from Steve Madden.

This  pair by Jeffery Campbell are pretty sassy and a little retro. I am not sure if I could walk in them tho.

Music Pick of the Day

We’re only young and naive still
We require certain skills
The mood it changes like the wind
Hard to control when it begins

The bittersweet between my teeth
Trying to find the in-betweens
Fall back in love eventually

We lie beneath the stars at night
Our hands gripping each other tight
You keep my secrets hope to die
Promises, swear them to the sky

Things I have Learned

I started to draft this blog about my 20′s awhile back. I wanted to add more to it, but I think I will just write multiple blogs. I seem to start a lot of blogs and not finish them. Sometimes I combined them into one. I think I have like 10 drafts at the moment. Some I may never publish…

I’ve been thinking a lot about life lately. Thinking about the  past years of my life, taking inventories and contemplating a lot of different things.  With all of these thoughts flowing  around in my head, I started to think about all the things I’ve learned while on this wild ride of my 20′s. I think it’s safe to say that this decade has included some of the most defining years of my life. Here are some things I’ve learned some big and some small.

• Never let anyone else make you feel bad about your choices.
I’ve made choices that don’t always follow the normal grain of what “everyone else was doing.” I’ve done all sorts of things that people haven’t understood & may never understand.  I will never be a “normal” person who always does the easy thing, who takes the safe or quiet road. I have made bad choices but have learned from them. If it wasn’t for the bad choices that I made I wouldn’t be who I am today.

Be Accountable. I used to be such a flaky teenager it was horrible. And I’m probably giving myself too much credit- I was the same way throughout my early 20s as well. The minute I would make plans I would start to feel just a little uncomfortable, and more often than not I would find myself breaking plans and finding something “better” to do, spur of the moment of course. I’m not sure why I hated feeling so tied down back then, because now I love and thrive on planning. I finally learned how rude it is to make or break plans.

Not everyone will like you. Oh, this is such an important lesson learned. And a hard one for me, but I’ve definitely learned it. It’s important to understand that it is absolutely impossible for every single person to like you or enjoy your company. Just like some people rub you the wrong way, it can go the same way for others when they think of you.

Be careful with tattoos NO Symbols of Love or Names: defiantly learned this one the hard way. With 2 tattoos I regret.  I love my other 3 and still want more? The next tattoo I get will be to cover up the one on my arm of a chess piece that I regret getting. Ugh I am just unsure of what tho? It is on my arm? I have a few ideas.

My first tattoo was of a silly blue rose? Why you ask? I have no idea. I was 16 and I said I want a tattoo. I don’t care what it is I just want one. I am in a way grateful in a way that I was to busy spending my $ on other crap & that I didn’t end up with a whole body of tattoos I regret. My parents are not too happy about me having so many tattoos, especially the visible ones. I’m sure they think I shouldn’t be spending money on something that they think is unnecessary. But, tattoos make me happy and they are a part of me. Quote from my grandmother: ” Andrea’s tattoos at least are pretty” Quote from my step mom: “Ewww gross why do you do that to your self”?  Quote from dad: “How much money did that cost”? Hmmm total spent on body art. $300 total. Not bad really.

Drugs are bad mmmm k: We’ve all seen the egg and frying pan commercials, or the junkies on the streets downtown. We all know what could happen to our health years later, but we light up  anyways. A lot of my early 20′s where spent doing drugs and binge drinking. I prided myself in being the party girl.  I was proud that I could drink with the boys and not black out. Shot after shot, hit after hit.  From about 14-25 I drank & experimented A LOT!   I got clean at 25 years old on August 2nd, 2006. I will forever be grateful. Hopefully maybe this will reach someone out there. I lived in a prison that I created myself

I did have a choice.  After that, I was in the grip of a disease more powerful than myself. Drugs will presents themselves as your best friend, but quickly becomes evil in your life. Once you’ve been there you almost can’t escape.  Everyone I used with had been to jail because of drugs; whether it was possession or something stupid they had done.  I flat out told people I didn’t have a  problem because I’d never gone to jail.  The people I used with didn’t have a place to live, a car, a phone, electricity or heat, and until the end, I had those things!!!  I compared myself to others to prove I wasn’t an addict.  I was wrong.  And as I sat in jail, coming down — I finally admitted I was an addict. My first dose of humility. The way I was living was hopeless; I was barely surviving.  I knew that if I didn’t do something, it was going to kill me.  I was living in a prison created by myself, for myself.

Beauty Sleep

Saturday night I was unable to sleep all night. Last time I looked at the clock it was 5:30 am. I am not sure if it was the stress of knowing that I needed to be up at  7 am am or if it was just to much caffeine that night. I felt terrible all day Sunday and spent most of the day eating and laying around watching tv and movies after my morning meeting.

Pups need their rest too. Photo source.

A good night sleep is good for your body all round. While you sleep your body gets a break from day to day stress and tiredness. Therefore everything will be that little bit more efficient afterwards.

When we lose sleep, we lose a lot more than just sleep. Our food habits become ruled by cravings  and we may become irritable or unpleasant to be around. Lack of sleep can decrease work productivity, sex drive, intellectual abilities, enjoyment of the pleasures in life… and when these things decline, so does our confidence.  So just think of this as a reason to get a full nights sleep.

Also to help maintain healthy skin, doctors recommend that  you get at least 7 to 8 hours of restful sleep each night. There’s a reason that they call it ‘beauty sleep’. While you’re sleeping your body releases human growth hormones. This helps your body create collagen which gives your skin strength and elasticity.  While you are dreaming away, your skin cells are regenerating and all the muscles in your face that create wrinkles begin to relax.  While the recommended hours of sleep you should be getting each night is between 7 and 9, this just simply isn’t a reality for some you busy ladies.

According to FITNESS Magazine, when you have been asleep for 5 hours “Your skin’s temperature reaches its lowest point and your muscles relax, giving skin its deepest recovery.” So go ahead and hit that snooze button  and dream a little longer tonight.

Happy Friday

Hello, happy Friday! It’s almost the weekend. I hope you’re going to be doing something fun and exciting.

I am really enjoying my new blog layout. Still trying to fix all the small querks and decide on a layout that I like. The purple bubbles are kind of growing on me. Purple does happen to be my favorite color.

Today I thought I would post some recent photos that I took with my new android phone. ( I got a Nexus S <3 it)

I am using the application picplz. It is pretty cool and has its own social networking site and links directly to your facebook, twitter and tumblr accounts.
